Teamviewer free limits, commercial use suspected

For system administrator like me, remote support is very important. Software such as Remote Desktop, Teamviewer and VNC are some of the most widely use. I myself prefer Teamviewer simply due to its connection features able to bypass firewalls.

Teamviewer is free for personal use. For commercial use, it require license and it cost a lot. But trust me, it worth it. As I am not afford to buy it at the moment, I have to rely on the free version to ease my works. There are limits on the free version, such as time of usage. And if you are not lucky, you may get caught and suspected using it as commercial. And this will get you a lot of popup warnings and worse is a 5 minute usage limit.

If you are not as what they suspected, you can always contact the Teamviewer support and get their assistance. That is what I did previously. And they will remove you from the suspect list, if you can convince them that you are using it as personal.

Also, there is a way to solve this which I will share it with you here. But I always recommend you to contact the support first. And only use this if you need to use it urgently and not able to get responds quick enough from the support.

First close Teamviewer, if it is running and uninstall it.

Then, click on Start –> Run –> type %appdata% –> delete TeamViewer folder

Next, click on Start –> Run –> type regedit –> Hkey Local Machine -> Software –> Teamviewer (Delete)

Then click on Start –> Run –> type regedit –> Hkey current user -> Software –> Teamviewer (Delete)

Lastly download this software from http://www.technitium.com/tmac/ to change Mac Address.

Now OK you can re-install Teamview and using it is normal.

Sometimes it may able to detect it again if you are purely using it as commercial. I encourage you to consult with your management and buy it.

Good luck!
